The City of Granbury has deployed a TROPOS wireless mesh network over approximately 10 square miles of the incorporated city limits. This wireless network provides City workers access to the resources they need to be better equipped to provide services to our citizens. This network also allows our citizens access to broadband speed Internet service. We offer several plans ranging from daily rates for our visitors at $5.95/day to monthly plans for long term use up to $19.95/mth. The unique aspect of this service is that you are not restricted to a specific location. Once you have created an account you can use this service from anywhere in the city that it is available.
To connect to our service simply select City WIFI from your available wireless networks. Once you are connected simply open your Internet browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox) and our sign up splash page will appear. The sign up for service link is located on the bottom left of the page. This link will take you through the process of setting up a userid and password as well as selecting which service plan best suits your needs.
If you are able to connect to the City WIFI network but have a weak signal a wireless repeater is available. This installs at your premises and pulls in the weak signal and then rebroadcasts that signal so that a reliable connection can be made within your building. These units are sold for $60.00 and are available by calling our IT Department.
If you have have questions about our service please call our Information Technology Department at 817-573-1114 X1159 or email us at . They will be glad to answer any questions and help you get connected. If you already have an account on our system and are having connectivity issues please submit a problem report via our Citizen's Service Request System.
